Congratulations Camp Sovvene – our latest Sápmi Experience Company!

The Sámi family owned Camp Sovvene in Njaarke Sámi village has been approved by VisitSápmi as a Sápmi Experience company. They offer high quality fishing experiences in the Sámi river of Långsån.
The company is wholly integrated in the Sámi community with Helen’s husband Daana Fjällberg still actively herding reindeer. The company has worked for 10 years with sport fishing tourism and offers some excellent fly fishing. Their well-managed waters have hosted guests from many countries around the globe. In August VisitSápmis expert on fishing introduced Scottish fishing guide Bill Drew from Tweed Guides to the waters. In the evening sat around an open fire in the lavvú Bill listened to Daana’s tales of the reindeer herders and their eight seasons. The evening of storytelling was accompanies by a tasty Sámi moose stew prepared in the traditional way by Daana.
