Labeling committee comment:
Ájtte is deeply rooted in Sápmi and acknowledged as on of the most important places to go if you want to learn about the Sámi. Ájtte and its staff is therefore important ambassadors for Sápmi. By spreading knowledge they create better understanding for Sámi life and Sámi values. Staff is selected for knowledge of Sámi culture, lifestyle and language. Ájtte also serve as an educational resource for nearby Samernas Utbildningscentrum (Sámi School that teach, reindeer herding, handicraft, language, cuisine etc.). Part of the education is in the museum done by museum staff. It is all about spreading traditional knowledge to Sámi and to the rest of the world. This is what Sápmi Experience is about.
