The company, with its business activities, aims to contribute to the survival of the Sámi culture and reindeer herding. We aim to offer activities and experiences that offer the visitor a glimpse into Sámi life and culture in a way that is genuine and does not misrepresent Sámi history, culture and attributes.
Our Sámi tourism activities are based on safeguarding reindeer herding, but also on being able to display appropriate components of reindeer herding discreetly and in consultation with reindeer herders.
Our tourism activities will be small-scale and give each visitor an opportunity to gain an understanding and respect for the Sámi people and enjoy their visit to Sápmi. Our encounters with the local population will be based on integrity and respect for the tourist’s desire to learn about and understand the culture.
We aim to encourage our visitors to purchase quality products from Sámi businesses. The products will reflect the Sámi lifestyle and culture in an authentic way.
Our company commissions people with Sámi backgrounds, locally established in the area, to convey knowledge. In some cases, we may use non-Sámi guides. These are people with specialised proficiency and language skills that are needed to supplement the Sámi guide.
A specific objective for the company is to safeguard traditional Sámi knowledge and skills.
